Pointing

Cranborne Stone pointing instructions

We would like to draw your attention to the following:

Balustrades

Assembling balustrades requires some skill and experience and we recommend that a builder who has erected balustrade before is used. Instructions are available on request. Suitable footings should be prepared in advance.

Urns and Vases

Urns and vases should be mortared together using a weak cement mix (1:4 cement to sand).

If there is a risk that children or members of the public may climb on the urns, vertical steel reinforcing bars should be used to reinforce the connection between the vase and the base. In these circumstances we recommend that the opinion of a structural engineer is sought.
